Our Mini Meadows Ocean Fund
Find out why Bexley Beaumont has chosen to support it for two years running!

Blue Meadows wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of the people and businesses who choose to donate.
In 2025, we launched our ‘first-of-its-kind’ donation model for seagrass recovery in the UK, called the Mini Meadows Ocean Fund. Mini Meadows funds our Blue Meadows programme, supporting subtidal seagrass protection and restoration across the country. Mini Meadows is unique because it’s not just a donation scheme with a ‘thank you’; it translates financial contribution into real, tangible impact data from our seagrass meadows, helping you to understand and tell the story of your contribution to nature recovery.
In this blog post, we speak with the co-founders of law firm Bexley Beaumont, who have generously chosen to support our Mini Meadows Ocean Fund for a second year running.
Can you provide a short statement explaining who Bexley Beaumont and the BBFoundation are, and what you do?
Bexley Beaumont is a B-Corp certified boutique law firm with offices in London and Manchester. We are a firm with a focus on quality and talent and where clients’ and lawyers’ interests are aligned by collaboration and innovation. We promote inclusivity and strive to find better ways to work jointly with our clients and each other, empowering lawyers to become trusted advisors delivering excellent client service. We have a commitment to talent, team culture, support and collaboration. The firm was launched in 2020 to provide a different offering for both lawyers and clients and has now grown to over 75 partners covering a range of disciplines across the UK. The firm donates a portion of its profits each year to BBFoundation, our registered charity which we incorporated in 2024. We donated over £10,000 in both 2024 and 2025. The charity allows us to donate directly to causes that we believe are aligned with the firm’s interests and values. Those decisions are made by the charity’s trustees, who include us as the business founders, lawyers in the Bexley Beaumont team and members of our internal support team.

What made you choose to support the OCT’s Mini Meadows Ocean Fund for two consecutive years?
We are always looking at ways we can improve our contribution to our community and the environment. This commitment continues to grow in line with the business. Looking for opportunities to support environmental charities is a key part of the firm’s climate action plan, so when launching BBFoundation in 2024, we were looking for a cause that helped us fulfil our objectives, whilst making a meaningful difference to the environment.
As a firm that has a different operating model to traditional law firms, we sometimes try to take that same approach with the causes we choose to support. I have to admit I wasn’t aware of seagrass meadows, but when we were researching projects to support, the Mini Meadows Ocean Fund (the donation fund for the OCT’s Blue Meadows programme) jumped out as a standout opportunity. After learning more about the effects of seagrass, particularly finding out that an area of seagrass can be more effective at carbon capture than the same area of rainforest, we knew that we had found a project that matched both our objectives, of being effective and different.

That’s why we chose the Blue Meadows programme as BBFoundation’s first environmental charity project in 2025, and when it came time to renew, we wanted to extend our support and decided to make another donation in 2026.
What are the benefits to your organisation for supporting seagrass?
The project aligns so well with our beliefs, as proven by our decision to renew our support in 2026. We’re proud that BBFoundation acts an extension of the Bexley Beaumont brand, and one of our business values is passion. The passion in the team at the OCT is evident and you can see that in the way the project makes a measurable difference to Britain’s coastlines, protecting marine life and being an effective source of carbon capture in the long term.
What would you say to another business that’s considering supporting Mini Meadows?
Supporting Mini Meadows is a fabulous initiative for businesses who are passionate about making a difference to communities and the environment. The project has a real-life impact; over the last century the UK has lost up to 90% of its seagrass meadows, largely through physical disturbance, pollution and disease. Seagrass is one of the most ecologically valuable and biodiverse habitats on the planet. It is one of the few habitats that provides multiple benefits to us and the environment. By supporting the OCT’s Mini Meadows Ocean Fund, we’ve become part of a community coming together to save a critical habitat that is key for the survival of people and our planet. I’m excited that Bexley Beaumont and the BBFoundation are championing this project, and we look forward to deepening our connections with the team.
